Dr. Sam Chen has over 10 years of experience in nanoparticle formulation research and development. He has deep expertise in synthetic and natural lipids and their interactions in membrane systems, which he applies to engineer potent nanoparticles for lipophilic prodrugs. He has authored over 25 publications and two book chapters and currently leads formulation R&D. He is also an inventor of two key company technologies.  

He obtained his B.Sc. in Biochemistry and Ph.D. in drug delivery from the University of British Columbia. His Ph.D. was completed under the supervision of Prof. Pieter Cullis, a pioneer in lipid-based drug delivery systems.
